OUR STORY

Street Rev. “Frank The Blessed”, Pastor, International Empowerment Speaker, Life Coach & Activist, found and married the Love of his life; Lady Tapatha Kendrick Smith Global Business Women, Empowerment Speaker, Wellness Coach & Activist on May 1, 2017

Each of us started at a young age as students of the Gospel with a praying and Christian upbringing.

Yet our personal choices took us on completely opposite paths to our current situation. I, Lady Tapatha, choose the church world and corporate America. Street Rev. selected to be a man of leisure, fast cars, women, and money. Both paths led us to lifestyles that caused great pain, forcing this man and this woman to review our lives and fight for HEALING and CHANGE.

As the Smith Family, we have become masters of our Passion & Purpose: to EMPOWER PEOPLE Locally and Globally.

Today we work in several capacities and communities: directly with youth centers, advocating and empowering men and women, assisting people experiencing homelessness, delivering certified training in human and sex trafficking awareness. We are proud to offer empowerment workshops to corporations, non-profits and individuals around these listed social impact issues.

OUR FOUNDERS: Street Rev. & Lady Tapatha

Mr. & Mrs. Smith are a match made in heaven as they are both very Passionate about Empowering, Educating, Loving & Building Families. That includes their own, starting with Joy Smith, Fabulous Smith, Fantastic Smith, Mr. Famous, and our furry baby China.

Affectionately known as "The Bay Area 1st Royal Family”, this power couple loves to travel, enjoys all cultures, food and music while empowering people from all walks of life. They invite families in to learn, heal and grow with them on their personal journey of LOVE, HEALING and HARVEST.

Over the years, Broken Chains Empowerment Center has developed strong partnerships with Paramount Films,

Parent Voices of Oakland, and Roses in Concrete, to name a few. Now, through AirBnB, we also offer experiences that involve, and impact people from around the globe, with these

same social issues. These partnerships support and team up throughout the year to make a difference in both the global and local communities.

Back for its third year, StorySlam promises to be an evening of delicious food, connection, and inspiring heartfelt stories from our Bay Area food community.

Emceed by Shakirah Simley, we are excited to celebrate stories from Bay Area all-stars Nite Yun of Nyum Bai, Josey Baker of Josey Baker Bread, Aruna Lee of Volcano Kimchi, Chef Tu David Phu, Street Rev.Frank & Lady Tapatha Smith, and more.

All proceeds from this fundraiser go towards supporting RFRS' free storytelling gatherings that bring together curious eaters and local food changemakers to cultivate connection in our local food community.
